This home in rural Alabama is designed around a butterfly theme. Working with a client who had been through multiple design iterations over a year, Squaremoon Studio listened to the client’s desired functional, organizational, and design aspirations and helped to formulate a design scheme that, according to the client, “totally nailed my vision.” The design created a main space catered to the client’s acoustical interests, related the supporting spaces in a way that met his desires, and found the right circulation for his needs. The design drew on the butterflly scheme to generate a series of lofted roofs and a dynamic accent wall.
